How long after completion is my procuration fee paid?

You can usually expect to receive your procuration fee 10 working days after completion, although for some networks and clubs, payment is agreed on a monthly basis. If you wish to receive your procuration fees electronically, please ensure you provide your payment details.

Who can I talk to regarding retention products?

You can contact your local Skipton Business Development Manager on 0800 87 66 010.

Do you accept payment of valuation fees by debit or credit card?

We do accept debit cards, but not via the internet. To make payment of fees by debit card please call Mortgage Service Centre - 0800 707 6009. We currently do not accept credit cards. Our Mortgage Service Centre will contact your client directly for the valuation fee (not applicable in Scotland).

What is the maximum term you will lend for?

The maximum term we will lend for is 35 years, if evidence of ability to repay the mortgage within the term exists.

What kind of properties will you not lend on?

The following types are not acceptable:

  • unrepaired steel frame construction (eg Airey)
  • flats and maisonettes of large panel system type
  • load-bearing asbestos or gypsum
  • Vic Hallam
  • BISF type properties
  • Grade I/Grade A (Scotland) listed buildings
  • shared ownership
  • timber clad properties
  • freehold flats (except Scarborough)
  • leasehold for less than 40 years plus mortgage term
  • new build flats
  • studio flats

In addition, we will not lend on the property, if:

  • there is settlement, subsidence or structural movement
  • it is situated in a flooding area
  • the area is not suitable for residential property ie in highly industrial areas
  • there are nuisance factors affecting property ie flats above commercial premises
  • the property has been owned for less than 6 months for remortgage cases
  • no high rise flats or properties above 5 stories and/or 48 units
